On Friday June 15th, Artur Lason performed in an ancient town Kwidzyn
- 80 km / 50 miles south of Gdansk - at festival Kwidzynskie Obserwatorium
Muzycznych Poszukiwan - KOMP 2001 (Kwidzyn Observatory
of Music Penetrations). He played concert like in November in
The Field Cathedral of Polish Army in Warszawa, but Kwidzyn concert was more
dynamic and
stretched by an impression that was based on motives of one of pieces that Artur
just composes for his new album - more details will come in time.
Beside him other artists played their concerts. They were: Wieslaw "Tracer"
Malolepszy, Slawomir Ruczkowski, Daniel Bloom, Medusa,
Neuron Gates and Dutch duo Wave World.
Since
January 1st, 2001, "Znak zasluchania - Probki" (... - Samples)
has been available. It's a re-issue - in CDR format - of a material released
in 1994 by F. C. Tangram / Sound-Pol / X-Serwis on a cassette.
Originally, it contained 14 samples - CDR will be enriched by "Sample
XV" recorded live at concert that took a place on September 18th, 1999
in Warszawa during Natural Medicine Fairs.
In FEMME distribution, there are 3 solo albums by Artur Lason and 2 samplers containing a few tracks by him.
On Sunday November 5th, 2000 I performed in Katedra Polowa Wojska Polskiego (The Field Cathedral of Polish Army) in Warszawa at an opening concert of Festival of Sacred Music that had lasted in several churches in a town during all the month. I played a 4-part suite specially made for a festival. The suite was based on phrases and atmosphere of my timeless composition entitled "Znak zasluchania".
"Znak zasluchania - Tree" was the first part of a concert. It was a ten-minute-long announcement of a new version of the work on that I work presently. It will be another chapter of 5-part project that started with "Znak zasluchania - Water". Elements of "Znak zasluchania - Water" and additional drum sequences were third part of the suite performed in cathedral.
In the second part of a concert, I played brief version of a piece entitled "Does tomorrow ever know?" - with additional wind bells. The full version is on a CDR "Hue Rage Music". Very atmospheric, ambient version of a piece entitled "A Stone" was a final of the event. Originally, "A Stone" is a song with a Polish text by Slawomir Bosinski.
Audience spent 40 minutes of the concert in deep listening - regarding a title of it: "Znak zasluchania".
On
July 9th, 2000 he played at the festival II Miedzynarodowe Prezentacje Muzyczne
"Ambient 2000" (2nd International Musical Presentations "Ambient 2000")
in Wisla. Hans-Joachim Roedelius (ex Kluster, Cluster, Harmonia, Brian
Eno and others) joined him on a stage for the last quarter. It was a marvellous
event though both musicians improvised. Christine - the Roedelius'
wife - listened to the concert and afterwards she said that music by Artur
Lason was like the best pieces by Cluster.
The concert was recorded and there's a chance it will be released by FEMME. Meanwhile, you can find more infos of the festival - if you read Polish - at website: www.mpm.c-net.pl.
