a typical minimal music. It's composed for electronic instruments controlled
by a computer. It's a free impression of meditative character in spite of changing
moods and various sounds. Performer determinates its run and a time of its duration
- modifying a computer program according to his desires and fancy.
The work is constructed of many cycled themes of so different sizes that it's impossible to repeat the same configuration - even in a theoretically infinitely long time. That variety can be expanded by a performer freely using or muting each cycle or setting different sounds to one theme.
In spite of obvious and inevitable similarities among some parts of the work, so big differences can happen as if they're different compositions slowly turning one into another.
"ZNAK ZASLUCHANIA" works like a catharsis. It helps listener to get a conscious contact with one's emotions sleeping in the subconscious. It is an eternal, electroacoustic, cosmic meditation. You can join it and leave it anytime you want, knowing - beside some similarities - you'll hear and pass through dissimilar sound structures, different moods and another chapter of the same mental conversation of our bodies, souls and truth. You can always be sure you don't miss any sound. So, don't hurry. Relax, concentrate on yourself, think and when you feel your time has come... invite me.
You can organise a concert by me for every number of people. You can also deliver me - by yourself or by mail - a new audio cassette. I'll fill it up with the sounds of my eternal meditation just floating through my intuition, invention and instruments. And you'll become the only owner of that define movement of our cosmic talk. Even I won't keep a copy for me.
Maybe somewhere somebody will have one's version like yours but it will be the different chapter of my eternal meditation - unless you'll copy it for someone else, of your own will. So I suggest you to copy your tape for people who already have at least one original version. Every cassette will be marked with the individual three-letter-code.
How much is to join "Znak zasluchania"? It's up to... you. I don't fix a price. You have to decide how much my music is valid for you. You can reward me with any amount of money - but not less than equality of 20 US $ for 60 minute recording - sent in advance. You can reward me for your original and for copy. You can also resign possessing your part of meditation and not send me any cassette, and after all you can reward me for my idea only.
Everybody gets what one just expects needs or deserves.
Since
January 1st, 2001, "Znak zasluchania - Probki" (... - Samples)
is available. It's a re-issue - in CDR format - of a material released in 1994
by F. C. Tangram / Sound-Pol / X-Serwis on a cassette.
Originally, it contained 14 samples - CDR is enriched by "Sample XV" recorded live at concert that took a place on September 18th, 1999 in Warszawa during Natural Medicine Fairs.

Another one is entitled "Znak zasluchania - Water". The first part of a title is impossible to translate. It's a Polish pun and means combination of "a question mark" and "deep listening".
"Znak zasluchania - Water" is a one 73-minute-long piece of floating ambient music with many electronic loops. It is the first chapter of the five-part series that describes five ancient Chinese elements with sounds.
